Born Cameron Martinez Ramos on July 9, 2002, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the artist known as Konqwest spent his youth in Macomb County before moving to Richmond at age seven. His early world was defined by the high-energy aesthetics of Tony Hawk’s Project 8 and the iconic sounds of Queen and KISS. These vibrant influences shaped the "Modern Poet" persona he carries today.During high school, he moved to Port Huron, his last long-term residence, where he met his best friend, Elijah. A newcomer from Jamaica, Elijah introduced him to the worlds of Tyler, The Creator and Kendrick Lamar, shifting Cameron’s musical perspective forever.After a rough start at 17 as "Maxx Martinez," Cameron stepped away from music until a sudden passion reignited at 20. Following a spiritual rebirth at 22, he deleted his old catalog to start fresh. Today, under Moral Insight Records, he makes clean, hits proving modern hip-hop needs no profanity.
