Born Tyrone Smith long before coming into the music world as EQ Why started on the dance floors with the crews and troops. He got his start in Chicago's "Phase 2" from the urban area of Chicago in the Ida B. Wells housing projects where he was raised. Going to the parties where other crews would be such as The Rink, and the House of Kicks he wasn't allowed to go to other places because of his young age. Dancing and growing up listening to tracks by DJ Deeon, DJ Slugo, DJ PJ, DJ Clent, and RP Boo he was easily influenced that he wanted to become someone who can also produce his own style of tracks and wanted to be a part of this art form. EQ Why started his music career in the summer of 2001 when he was introduced to a program called "Fruity Loops" by DJ Roc which allowed him to create & produce his own music already knowing what it was but wasn't taught how to make his own music at this point he was just at the ground level of his career and now more interested in becoming an producer.
