Raised in Queens NY, Sudanese-born Moma is the embodiment of the versatile New York DJ & Music Producer. His wildly successful event series - Everyday People - has granted him the privilege of performing for global audiences, and now - via his debut album “Jozi Love Affair” he is reintroducing himself to this global audience as a musician. Crafted in Johannesburg, South Africa, “Jozi Love Affair” is a collaboration between Moma and his South Africa musical allies, namely but not limited to Jillz, K-Zaka, MustBeDubz, Ice Beats Slide, Xduppy, Blaqnick & Masterblaq and TNK MusiQ . Using an approach similar from Moma’s own DJ sets, the musical sound of the album is a hybrid of 3-Step, Amapiano, Afrohouse percussions and grooves, jazzy / gospel influenced chord progressions, with a blend of melancholy South African and bouncy Afrobeats inspired vocals.
