DJ 2-Tone Jones is a quintessential DJ, tastemaker and arts educator. On the performance side he has shared the stage with the likes of Common, De La Soul, Raekwon, Kendrick Lamar, Robert Glasper, Brand Nubian, Mix Master Mike, Pharaohe Monch, Jabba (HHP), Oddisee, Mumu Fresh, Dave Chapelle and many others. In the early 2000’s he served as the DJ-in-residence for Shaman Work Recordings and released 2 projects: “Black Gold: The Afro-Future Mixes” (a remix/mash-up album with Wale Oyejide) & “A Brief Education on the Musical Genius of Jay Dee”. Along with his longtime collaborator Gerald Watson, 2-Tone’s founded SHAOLIN JAZZ back in 2011. It's a creative brand that that explores the intersections of Jazz, Hip Hop and Martial Arts culture through unique engagements and content development. The most popular of these engagements the CAN I KICK IT? film screening experience in which classic martial arts/action movies are scored live by 2-Tone scene-by-scene.
